Experiencing a trauma, doesn’t mean you wont recover! Getting informed support is essential.

It is normative (in the context of trauma) to believe you might not get through it. You can! You may not be able to do it alone. You will, most likely, need support. You will most certainly benefit from the right (informed) support. There are as many beliefs about recovery as there are potential traumas. Because of this, it is important that you find support in a therapeutic setting you trust that can help you look at your specific experience (s). A setting (and therapeutic relationship) that can help you look at your individual set of beliefs, emotions, and behaviors that have been carefully constructed (by you) to protect you. You have needed this protection! It is likely it has helped you survive. And, you will need support and emotional protection as you begin to review your experience, (beliefs, feelings, behaviors) and begin to build your new perspective. Your new perspective (built in the context of safety) will aide you in your recovery and belief that you can get through this. And, you can get through this! One step at a time. It is a process and one you are worth pursuing!
